KAMBO CEREMONY

Kambo is a healing ritual originating from South America. The medicine is a secretion from the giant monkey frog or Phyllomedusa bicolor. Indigenous people of the Amazon have used Kambo for centuries to heal all dis-ease, to cleanse the body by strengthening it's natural immune system and to ward off bad luck. It's also traditionally used to increase stamina and hunting skills.

Kambo has been brought to the Western World by Naturopaths and Shamans that recognize it's benefits in cleansing the body of toxins and treating numerous different ailments. Kambo effects a wide range of conditions, here are some that I have witnessed:

Anxiety

Depression

Hormonal Imbalance

IBS

Inflammation

Infertility

Irregular Cells

Low Libido

Low Qi in Kidney, Liver and/or Spleen

PCOS

Parasites (& parasitic energy)

the list goes on...

If this is your first time please book a consult call to see if Kambo may support you in your current body reclamation journey.

The lineage of medicine that I work with comes from the Matsés tribe of Peru and Brazil. The Kambo ceremony is non-traditional in the sense that it has been acclimated to support those that live in the western world, where more care and tenderness is needed to merge the jungle medicine with affluent lifestyles.

Kambo is applied directly to the skin. We begin by opening the gates. This involves burning small holes on the epidermis to allow the medicine to reach the blood stream. The Kambo medicine is applied and within a few seconds one will begin to feel the effects; a dramatic rise or fall in blood pressure, sweating, dizziness, and may include nausea and vomiting and/or defecation. Other more variable effects in the acute phase may include a strong pressure in the head, neck and chest, stomach pain, inflammation of the throat, blurred vision, dry mouth, a sense of bodily heaviness (difficulty moving), and also a numb and swollen tongue, lips, and face (some may actually feel like a frog). Sounds fun right?... Maybe a bit scary. This a healthy natural fear, an aspect of facing death of oneself, where we will let what is ready to die go, so that there is space for more of your light and your truth to be anchored in your Body temple.

I am a Trauma Informed, CPR & First Aid Certified Practitioner.

Don’t worry, it only lasts 10-30 minutes; typically a purge will support the subsiding of the effects, and then I will remove the kambo points. Afterward I suggest to let your body rest.

To physically prepare for Kambo one needs to be fasting for at least 12hrs. I have different recommendations depending on your current lifestlye. In general when the human body is regulated with bowl movements, well hydrated and mineralized, then the ceremony may be more easeful. I contribute that to mean their is less resistance in the body to allow the process of kambo to move through, and to move out what is no longer serving. Only sit with a trusted and trained practitioner* please seak professionals connected to the Origin of the medicine.

Kambo is not a psychoactive substance, yet the medicine is both physical and energetic, so the spirit of kambo will also be working with you. I will have a call with you before hand to discuss clear intentions to bring forward in ceremony. The intentions will carry you through ceremony and deeply support whatever is needed through the experience, whether it is an energetic, emotional or spiritual intention. I recommend meditating, praying, or journaling about your process with Kambo. Crystallize your intention to potentially amplify and direct your ceremony in alignment with your greatest truth.

Allow yourself to fast from food as well as media and large crowds, directly before and after ceremony. Giving space for integration on both ends of the ceremony is highly recommended. We will have a follow up with an integration call after the ceremony.

I have been humbled by the amazon, meeting the source of the medicine I carry. All medicine sourced here comes from a small family with a heart of gold. They treat the frog with great care and reverence. Your investment in a ceremony directly supports their well being and the ethical treatment of the Kambo Frog.
